Exam trainer
The complete official UKE question bank for category 1 — 521 questions from four sections, each with the answer and a short explanation of why that’s the right one. A question only leaves the pool once you’ve answered it correctly three times, and the random order with shuffled answers stops you learning “by position”. Your progress is saved in your browser — you can come back tomorrow and carry on. When you feel ready, switch to the mock exam: 32 random questions, 8 from each section, marked exactly like the real thing.

The road to your licence
Category 1 or 3, registration, fees, certificate, licence application and choosing your callsign — step by step in the guide How to get your amateur radio licence.
How I count questions as “learnt”
Each question has its own counter. A correct answer increases it by one; three correct answers mark the question as learnt and it drops out of the draw. A mistake resets that question’s counter — you have to pass it three times again. Questions you get wrong come back more often.
Mock exam mode
It draws 32 questions — 8 from each of the four sections, just like in the real exam. Answers aren’t marked live; you get your result at the end, together with a list of mistakes and explanations. Mind the pass rule: it’s not the total score that counts, but your result in each section separately — you must have at least 75% in each of the four exam requirements, i.e. 6 out of 8 questions. One weaker section fails the whole exam, even with a good overall result (§ 14 of the Regulation of the Minister of Digital Affairs (rozporządzenie Ministra Cyfryzacji), Dz.U. 2026 poz. 406). A mock exam result doesn’t change your study progress — unless you click “Practise wrong ones in study mode”.
Where progress is stored
In the sq5cba_egzamin cookie in your browser,
valid for a year. Only an anonymous counter for the stats under the header goes to the server — one tally mark for a correct and an incorrect answer and for visits to the tutorial, without question content, without cookies and without any identifier; there’s no login. Clearing cookies or using another browser
means starting from scratch. The “Reset progress” button does the same, deliberately.
Where the questions come from
The question and answer content comes from UKE (the Polish Office of Electronic Communications) supporting materials for the exam in the amateur radiocommunication service (category 1, version 3, set A) — 338 questions on technology, 40 on safety at work, 75 on operating procedures and 68 on regulations. The exam itself is 32 questions, 8 from each section.
How I checked the key
Beyond my own work, the whole question bank went through cross-verification: the same 521 questions (without hinting at my answers) were solved independently by two models — GPT-5.5 and Grok 4.5. Agreement was 97.7%, and I resolved each of the 12 divergent questions by hand, going back to the source regulations. In the process I corrected one answer (CEPT privileges for category 3), and for disputed questions I added an explanation of where the doubt lies.
A note about the key
UKE publishes the questions without answers. I prepared the correct answers and explanations myself, based on the regulations (the Regulation on amateur licences (rozporządzenie o pozwoleniach amatorskich), the National Frequency Allocation Table (Krajowa Tablica Przeznaczeń Częstotliwości), the ITU Radio Regulations (Regulamin Radiokomunikacyjny ITU)) and on technical knowledge. If you think there’s an error somewhere — write to me, I’ll fix it. 73!
